Today, students are offered opportunities such as exchange studies and internships abroad, but there are many different ways to gain international merits that can be documented and highlighted in your diploma. During the fall semester of 2025 and the spring semester of 2026, Kristianstad University will run a pilot project to identify and develop activities that can be classified as international merits—for example, participation in the European University Alliance activities, mentorship programs, etc. These may include new ideas as well as initiatives already integrated into existing degrees.

In a workshop, we now want to work together with students and staff at HKR to identify the activities that contribute to international competence. For students interested in taking part in the pilot project, there will be an opportunity to sign up after the workshop. Participation in the project will be compensated.

What is Certificate of International Merits?

Certificate of International Merits (CIM) is a certificate documenting international activities that students take part in during their studies. These activities may vary in length and take place both in Sweden and abroad. By participating, students gain international merits that strengthen their CVs and make their experiences visible to future employers. It contributes to increased intercultural understanding and improved communication skills while creating opportunities for valuable international networks.
