Due to the risks associated with lithium-ion batteries, such as those used in electric bicycles and electric scooters, it is not allowed to bring or charge these batteries in the university's premises. This restriction also applies to other lithium-ion batteries larger than 10 Ah. Fires and explosions in lithium-ion batteries are rare, but when they do occur, they can be very difficult to control and may have serious consequences.
Storage of Electric Bicycles and Batteries
There is a locked enclosure for bicycles outside Building 21. This area now also includes a cabinet that meets safety requirements, where you can securely store and charge your battery.
To access the locked area, send an email to student@hkr.se. In the email, please provide your first and last name as well as your HKR email address. Within a week, you will have access with your HKR card as long as you are enrolled in a programme.
Equipment and mobility aids for individuals with disabilities can be used without restriction in the university’s premises while in use.
